Headless commerce

Headless WooCommerce with a fast Next.js storefront

Keep WooCommerce (or a custom Laravel backend) for products and orders, and give customers a Next.js storefront that loads fast, ranks well and does exactly what your business needs, including per-location catalogues, pickup and delivery, and custom checkout logic.

What I do

Headless commerce services

Next.js storefronts

Product listing, search, product pages, cart and checkout in Next.js, server-rendered for speed and search engines.

WooCommerce REST & Store API

Storefronts built on the WooCommerce REST API and Store API, with CoCart for carts and NextAuth.js for accounts.

Custom commerce backends

A Laravel backend that exposes a WooCommerce-compatible API, so the storefront and integrations keep working while the backend scales.

Multi-location retail

Per-store catalogues showing only in-stock items, store pickers, and pickup or delivery rules per location.

Payments & accounts

Card payments verified server-side before an order is marked paid, plus customer registration, order history and self-service cancellation.

SEO-safe migrations

Moving from a classic theme or a client-side React app to server rendering without losing rankings.

Why work with me

Headless done for business reasons, not hype

Headless commerce is worth it when your store needs speed, a custom experience or integrations that a classic WooCommerce theme cannot handle well. It is not worth it if a good theme would do, and I will tell you which situation you are in.

I have built a Next.js storefront on the WooCommerce REST API with CoCart, NextAuth.js and Tailwind CSS, and a Laravel 12 backend serving a WooCommerce-compatible API with real-time POS sync for a multi-location retailer. I have also moved a client-side-only React site to server-rendered Next.js to restore its Google indexing, so I know where headless sites tend to lose SEO and how to prevent it.

Because I work across the whole stack, from storefront and API to server, there is one person accountable for how the store actually performs.

How it works

How a project with me runs

  1. Discovery call

We talk through what you need, your deadline and your current setup. You get honest advice, even if that means a smaller job than you expected.

  2. Audit & plan

For existing projects I review the code, server and database first, then send a written plan with scope, priorities and an estimate.

  3. Build in small steps

Work ships in reviewable increments on a staging copy, with regular async updates so you always know where things stand.

  4. Launch & handover

I deploy, monitor the release, and leave documentation so your team (or the next developer) can maintain it.

FAQ

Headless commerce FAQ

What is headless WooCommerce?

WooCommerce keeps managing products, orders and customers, while the customer-facing store is a separate fast front end (here, Next.js) that talks to WooCommerce through its APIs.

Will a headless store hurt my SEO?

Not if it is built with server rendering, proper metadata, sitemaps and redirects. I build storefronts with SEO in mind from the start, and I have restored indexing for a site that lost it by being client-side only.

Can I keep using the WooCommerce admin?

Yes. Your team keeps managing products and orders in WooCommerce as before. Only the storefront changes.

Where is the storefront hosted?

Usually on Vercel for Next.js, with the WooCommerce or Laravel backend on your existing hosting or a VPS. I can also export a static build for cPanel hosting when that fits better.

Is headless right for my store?

It is a good fit when you need speed, a custom experience or complex integrations. For simpler stores a well-built theme is cheaper and easier to run, and I will tell you which applies to you.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. I have worked remotely for clients and teams in India, the US, the UK, Canada and the UAE, and I adjust my hours to overlap with your time zone for calls and releases.

Thinking about going headless?

Tell me about your store and what is holding it back. I will tell you honestly whether headless is worth it.
