A PHP developer who works across frameworks

PHP projects rarely start from a blank page. Most of the work I am hired for is an application that already runs a business and needs to keep running while it improves. I have worked across Laravel, CodeIgniter 3 and 4, Symfony and plain PHP, so I can read what is already there and choose the smallest change that solves the problem.

I also handle what sits under the code: Linux, Apache, Nginx, PHP-FPM and MySQL. When a PHP site is slow or falls over, the cause is often in that layer, and you do not need a second person to find it.

Which PHP framework is right for your project?

For most new applications I recommend Laravel, because of its ecosystem and how easy it is to hire for later. If you already run CodeIgniter, a rewrite is not automatically the answer: many apps are better maintained and improved in place. Rebuilding makes sense when the old code blocks what the business needs next, as in my CodeIgniter to Laravel rebuild.

If your site is already built and the problem is speed or downtime, start with PHP server and DevOps support instead.

Can I hire you as a dedicated PHP developer?

Yes. You can hire me as a dedicated remote PHP developer, full-time or part-time, or for a fixed-scope project. I adjust my working hours to overlap with your team.

Which PHP versions and frameworks do you work with?

PHP 8.x with Laravel, CodeIgniter 3 and 4, Symfony and plain PHP. I also take on older applications and move them to PHP 8.

Can you take over a PHP project another developer left?

Yes. I start with a code and server audit, fix the riskiest issues first, and document the project as I go, so it stops depending on one person.

Should I rewrite my old PHP application?

Not automatically. Many applications are better improved in place. I will review the code and tell you honestly whether fixing or rebuilding is the better choice.

Do you also handle hosting and servers?

Yes. I work with VPS and cPanel/WHM hosting, Apache, Nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL, cron, SSL and backups.
