Fix slow or crashing PHP sites, for good

When your Laravel, CodeIgniter or WordPress site keeps going down under load, I find the real cause, whether that is PHP-FPM pool sizing, Apache or Nginx limits, slow MySQL queries, or unbounded API calls, then fix it and prove the fix with a load test.

What I do

Server & DevOps services

Outage & downtime diagnosis

Tracing recurring crashes and blackouts to their causes across the web server, PHP-FPM, database, firewall and application code.

PHP-FPM, Apache & Nginx tuning

Right-sizing worker pools, connection limits and timeouts for your traffic and server memory.

MySQL / MariaDB optimisation

Finding slow queries, adding the right indexes, rewriting heavy reports, and tuning the database server.

Queues, workers & cron

Moving heavy jobs such as uploads, imports and emails into queues with CLI workers under Supervisor, so web requests stay fast.

Monitoring & alerting

Scripts that watch HTTP health, PHP-FPM worker state and MySQL connections, so problems are caught before customers notice.

Hosting, SSL, backups & CI/CD

VPS provisioning, cPanel/WHM, SSL, DNS and email deliverability, automated backups, and deployments from GitHub or Bitbucket.

Why work with me

Developer and sysadmin in one

Server problems in PHP apps are rarely just "the server". A pool of PHP-FPM workers fills up because a page waits 30 seconds on an external API with no timeout. MySQL locks up because a report scans a table with no index. To fix these properly you need someone who can read the application code and the server configuration, and I do both every day.

My approach is evidence first: gather logs, process lists and metrics, form a hypothesis, fix one thing at a time, and verify with a load test instead of hoping. On one CodeIgniter CRM/LMS this approach turned recurring site-wide outages into a system that held up under 500 concurrent virtual users.

When I finish, you get a short write-up of what was wrong, what changed, and what to watch, plus monitoring so you are not flying blind.

How it works

How a project with me runs

  1. Discovery call

We talk through what you need, your deadline and your current setup. You get honest advice, even if that means a smaller job than you expected.

  2. Audit & plan

For existing projects I review the code, server and database first, then send a written plan with scope, priorities and an estimate.

  3. Build in small steps

Work ships in reviewable increments on a staging copy, with regular async updates so you always know where things stand.

  4. Launch & handover

I deploy, monitor the release, and leave documentation so your team (or the next developer) can maintain it.

FAQ

Server & performance FAQ

My PHP site keeps going down. Can you fix it?

Usually, yes. I start by collecting evidence (server logs, PHP-FPM status, MySQL process lists and traffic patterns) to find the real bottleneck, then fix the causes one by one and confirm with a load test.

Do you need root access to the server?

Root or WHM access lets me fix the most, but I can also work with cPanel-only shared hosting and tell you exactly what to ask your host to change.

Can you set up monitoring for my site?

Yes. I set up monitoring for HTTP health, PHP-FPM worker usage and database connections, so you get warned before an outage.

Do you work with Nginx as well as Apache?

Yes, I configure and tune both, along with PHP-FPM, MariaDB/MySQL, Supervisor, cron and SSL.

Can you set up automated deployments?

Yes. I set up CI/CD from GitHub or Bitbucket so code reaches production through a repeatable process instead of manual uploads.

Do you work with clients outside India?

Yes. I have worked remotely for clients and teams in India, the US, the UK, Canada and the UAE, and I adjust my hours to overlap with your time zone for calls and releases.

Is your site slow or going down?

Tell me what you are seeing and when it happens. I will tell you where I would look first.
